Both bring TV into your home, but they arrive in different ways and need different equipment on your roof.
Saorview
Ireland's free national digital TV service. It's broadcast from land-based (terrestrial) transmitters and picked up by a rooftop aerial pointed at your nearest transmitter.

What's the difference between Saorview and Sky?
Saorview is Ireland's free national digital TV service, broadcast from land-based transmitters and received with a rooftop aerial. Channels include RTÉ One, RTÉ2, TG4 and Virgin Media One. Sky is a subscription service transmitted by satellite, most commonly from the Astra 2 satellites, and received with a satellite dish.
My aerial was damaged in a storm. What should I do?
Storm damage is one of the most common reasons people call us. Don't climb onto the roof yourself. Call us on 01 825 9870 and we'll look at repairing, realigning or replacing the aerial or dish.
Why does my picture keep breaking up?
Pixelation and freezing usually point to a weak signal. Common causes are an aerial or dish that has moved out of alignment, storm damage, or damaged cables and connectors.
